About ShiftWorx
Built for the Ones on Shift
ShiftWorx is a marketplace and commerce platform created specifically for the first-responder community.
We help first responders, departments, creators, responder families, and responder-owned businesses sell products, launch station stores, support meaningful causes, and connect with customers who understand the community behind every purchase.
Responder-made products. Station stores. Verified fundraisers. Responder-owned businesses. One community-focused platform.

Why ShiftWorx Exists
First responders do far more than answer emergency calls.
They build businesses, design station merchandise, create challenge coins and patches, organize memorial campaigns, raise money for families, and develop products inspired by life on the job.
But selling those products and managing those campaigns is often harder than it should be.
Station stores frequently depend on paper order forms, spreadsheets, group messages, payment apps, social media posts, and generic marketplaces that were never designed for the first-responder community.
ShiftWorx was created to bring those efforts together. Our goal is to provide one dedicated place where responders can sell their work, departments can manage station merchandise, authorized causes can raise support, and customers can discover responder-owned businesses.
Before ShiftWorx
Paper forms, spreadsheets, scattered payment links, social posts, manual size collection, and disconnected storefronts.
With ShiftWorx
One organized place for responder shops, station stores, specialty products, business discovery, and community fundraising.
Our Mission
Our mission is to strengthen the first-responder community by making it easier to support the people, businesses, stations, and causes behind the products. ShiftWorx is being built to connect commerce with community.
Help Responders Build
Give first responders, creators, and responder families practical tools to launch and grow their own shops.
Simplify Station Stores
Help departments, stations, academies, associations, and crews organize merchandise through one centralized storefront.
Support Responder-Owned Businesses
Make it easier for customers to discover and purchase from businesses connected to the first-responder community.
Improve Fundraiser Transparency
Provide authorized campaigns with a clearer way to explain who is organizing the fundraiser, what it supports, and how purchases contribute.
Expand Specialty Product Access
Connect shops and organizations with products that may not be available through ordinary print-on-demand services, including patches, challenge coins, decals, specialty apparel, and custom merchandise.
Strengthen Community Connections
Help every product, shop, station store, and campaign tell the story of the people behind it.
Every product has someone behind it. Every station store represents a crew. Every fundraiser has a story. ShiftWorx helps bring those connections into one marketplace.

Meet the Founder
Jim Mergenthaler
Founder of ShiftWorx · Career Firefighter-Paramedic
ShiftWorx was founded by Jim Mergenthaler, a career firefighter-paramedic with firsthand experience in emergency services, station culture, and the realities of shift work in Central Florida.
Throughout his career, Jim has seen how strongly first responders support their crews, departments, families, and fellow responders. He has also seen how difficult it can be to manage station merchandise, organize fundraisers, promote responder-owned businesses, and sell specialty products through disconnected systems.
Too often, those efforts depend on paper order forms, spreadsheets, group messages, social media posts, and payment links scattered across several platforms.
Jim created ShiftWorx to build a better option: one dedicated marketplace where responders can launch businesses, creators can sell their work, departments can simplify station stores, and authorized causes can raise support more effectively.
His broader work has focused on resilience, wellness, entrepreneurship, and practical solutions for people working in physically and mentally demanding professions. That same approach guides ShiftWorx: build useful tools, reduce unnecessary friction, and support the people behind the profession.

More Than a Product Marketplace
ShiftWorx is designed around the different ways the first-responder community creates, sells, organizes, and supports.
Responder Shops
First responders, creators, makers, and responder-owned businesses can build their own storefronts and sell directly to customers. Products may include apparel, handmade goods, digital products, decals, tumblers, patches, challenge coins, station merchandise, artwork, training resources, and other specialty items.
Station Stores
Departments, stations, academies, unions, associations, and crews can create a centralized online store for their merchandise. Instead of manually collecting sizes, payments, and order details, organizations can direct members and supporters to one organized storefront.
Verified Fundraiser Drops
ShiftWorx supports merchandise-based fundraising for approved department campaigns, memorial causes, responder families, community efforts, and other authorized initiatives. Qualifying fundraisers may receive additional review so customers can better understand who organized the campaign and what it supports.
Responder-Owned Business Discovery
ShiftWorx helps customers discover businesses owned or operated by firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, law-enforcement officers, dispatchers, military members, public-safety professionals, and responder families. The goal is not only to sell products — it is to help the community support its own.
Built Around Trust
Trust matters when a store represents a station, department, family, fundraiser, or public-safety organization. ShiftWorx may review qualifying station stores, department campaigns, fundraiser accounts, and responder-owned businesses before granting verification.
- Confirmation of department or organizational authorization
- Review of responder or business affiliation
- Approval for department name or logo usage
- Fundraiser purpose and beneficiary disclosures
- Contact or ownership verification
- Supporting documentation when necessary
Verification provides customers with additional context, but it does not guarantee every product, business, seller, or campaign. ShiftWorx uses verification to help protect the names, logos, families, departments, businesses, and causes represented on the platform. Verification standards may continue to evolve as the community and platform grow.

What We Stand For
Community First
ShiftWorx exists to serve the first-responder community and the people who support it.
Authenticity
Customers should be able to understand who is behind a shop, product, station store, or fundraiser.
Practical Tools
The platform should make selling, fundraising, and organizing merchandise easier — not create more administrative work.
Fair Opportunity
Independent creators and small responder-owned businesses deserve access to tools that help them compete and grow.
Respect for the Profession
Department names, station identities, responder stories, and memorial causes should be represented responsibly.
Continuous Improvement
ShiftWorx will continue evolving based on the needs and feedback of the community it serves.
A Marketplace With a Purpose
ShiftWorx is not being built to become another generic marketplace filled with unrelated products.
It is being built as a dedicated home for the first-responder community — a place where someone can discover a firefighter-owned business, purchase a station shirt, support a memorial fundraiser, order a challenge coin, find a handmade responder gift, or launch a shop of their own.
The long-term vision is to build the most useful and trusted commerce platform serving firefighters, EMS professionals, law-enforcement officers, dispatchers, responder families, public-safety organizations, and the people who support them.
Shop responder-made. Support responder-owned. Build something for your crew.
